Hi everyone,
I’m putting in this Viessmann boiler. I’m not piping a storage tank. It’s a 3 zone system. I was told I don’t need a low loss header. The supplier also mentioned a closely spaced Tee fitting. Any info on this install or pics shared would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Good Morning; The Vitodens B1HE Boiler is a low mass boiler with an internal ECM circulator. That being said; the safest way to ensure proper boiler operation is to pipe the system with hydraulic separation; in some cases you can direct connect to a heat emitter (Viessmann provides a residual pump curve chart; you would have to figure the gpm required and the head loss of the system; however a large majority of these installs are primary secondary). You can achieve hydraulic separation with closely spaced tees; however, the low loss header provides air elimination and dirt separation so it's a force multiplier in terms of having a better system. Viessmann has tremendous resources on their US Website (look at current manuals under the Pro Tool Box) Also check out Viessmann North America YouTube - a treasure trove of installation and service videos ranging from a few minutes to 2 plus hours.0
