Old radiator

I havean old radiator thatis dripping right at the connection to the steam line. Can't be screwed in as the find are on the way but definitely seems to be dripping from the connection. Was it pressed on or just pushed in? I can't seem to figure it out. Plumber wants to try soldering the seam and see if that will work
Any ideas??

looks like it was pressed together before the tank was assembled. If you can't solder it or braze it you'll have to get a new convector element. make sure it isn't leaking elsewhere or the fresh water being added to the boiler will kill your boiler.0
