Satisfying Project

Just about wrapped up with a job and kept steam in a home. The owner is in the process of rehabbing a house in Detroit that didn't have heat for some time. Installed a new steam boiler to feed the first floor and two rooms in the second. She wants a furnace with AC in the future for the two other floors. New condensate line and 6 radiators. Just need to install two more and chimney liner after the chimney gets tuck pointed. It was satisfying to get the system running and steam moving once again.

And a better boiler too. Let us know how well it runs when it's done.

Seemed to be nice dry steam. I may have to play around with the venting a bit. I have one large radiator in the bay window that takes a bit to warm. I was sad to see our Slant Fin line go away, but am impressed with the Crown BSI series that come with a vapor stat

Are you sure that's a vaporstat? I would think that it's a subtractive pressuretroll. Can't quite make it out in the picture

You are right. I looked at another job on the way home with one, it's been a busy few days and things are running together

Where are you out of and how big of a radius do you work? You will notice there is nobody in the find a contractor on this site in the SE Michigan area. Wish I had found you winter of '13/14.

@dabrakeman we service SE MI Detroit to Port Huron area. Just a small 4 person company most of us are firemen or like the boss a retired one. Mostly word of mouth keeps us more than busy. This fall it's almost been too busy. I do the service and boiler work, but we do regular HVAC. Just shoot me a PM if you need something.

@offdutytech do you know anyone that does sewer cleaning and work in metro detroit that is good? I have a coworker that lives in garden city that whoever she is talking to is trying to scam her.

@mattmia2 maybe try Halligan Plumbing they are over on the westside / downriver area. Not sure if they do that, but worth a shot
