Hi all, I have a real head scratcher here, I recently remove my hot water tank, that was connected to the boiler and installed an electric tank, before this, boiler worked great, now that am trying to use my heat, I keep getting a 140 flashing light on the display, when the thermostat calls for heat the zone valve don't open, not allowing the return line to reach correct temperature, I changed the zone valve motor, an still same issue, any help would be greatly appreciated , first floor thermostat is a 3 wire nest

Is the new water heater piped as a stand alone, or piped to the boiler again?

The 140 means it didn't reach temperature in a pre determined time.

    Is the burner in safety?
If you shut off the switch on the left side of the Manager, then turn on again, does the burner start? (Make sure the thermostat(s) are turned up.)

When was the last time it was serviced?

@hdbuilders When you removed the hot water storage tank from the boiler and switched to the electric tank, did you happen to remove the plate heat exchanger from the boiler? The plate heat exchangers are typically installed in the boilers bypass piping. If you removed the plate from the boiler, you will need to re-connect the bypass. My guess based on your description is that the plate was removed and the connections capped off instead of re-connected? This situation would definitely cause the the problems that you are seeing.
