Possible Asbestos on Radiator

Hi all!
I've been living in my NYC apartment for the past 3 months and was looking at my steam radiator in my living room and noticed some white fibery strings on the outside of the radiator. It's a very old building so I'm concerned it could be asbestos? Was wondering if anybody had any idea on if it's likely to find asbestos on a steam radiator like this.

I've seen some very old radiator covers that had asbestos panels under the lid, so the top would not get too hot. Picture would help. Dont panic. The only way to know for sure is having to tested and viewed under an electron microscope. Mad Dog 🐕0
