    Going 100% by memory here,
    But I think that's the connections across the thermostat? If so I'd expect it should be zero when the thermostat is calling for heat and 24V+- when it's not.

    Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

    Looks like y and g are at the vent damper

    I guess it depends on the age of the boiler.

    I just went down and took this picture of the diagram on my 2011 EG series.



    Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.
