Triangle tube prestige boiler.

It’s more than 15 yrs old and will at least need a new heat exchanger, Venturi, and fan. Plumber said ~$ but better to replace the entire unit for close to $. Any advice, will the repair get at least another 5 years out of the boiler?

    I would replace boiler, there is a chance with all that replaced that you would get 5 yrs out of it but you might also lose the other couple expensive parts on it and then you will be pushing it. What kind of boiler are they proposing, that is another important piece of the puzzle. I installed many Triangles and they were pretty good. We now do Lochinvar and part replacement has been minimal at best. Triangle is still a good product. No matter what I tell customers, 15-20 years is what I hope these types of condensing boilers will last, we are just about at 18 yrs with our oldest Triangle with several replaced before this, not many although. Most critical is to have them cleaned once a year and installed correctly in the first place.
