ok to continue to use intake thru closet door . or better to get a new roofjack that brings in fresh air? does it matter? does it depend on furnace model? maybe M5 or CM2 ? Any other furnace i should definitely consider ?

Your Existing CMF model brings outside air in for combustion thru the floor. It is easier to replace it with another CMF model or CM2 because all the measurements will line up, As long as the existing Roof Jack is good. The M5 will require a new Roof Jack because you can not have combustion air intake from the same air space as the blower air intake. If you have a very old Miller, and the exhaust vent does not line up then go with the M5 since you will need to get a new roof jack anyway.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?
