Electrode settings Carlin 100CRD oil burner

Not too long ago, Beckett revised their electrode settings to standardize them for all oil burners using an F series head. I will be replacing the electrodes in my Carlin burner soon and was wondering if Carlin had done anything like Beckett, and what the new recommended settings might be.

I can't remember. Maybe 3/8" up from nozzle center. tips flush with nozzle and 1/8" gap.

test my memory if you find the manual.

Bottom line is if it lights good and the electrodes don't carbon up that is the right setting LOL

I just use the plastic tool. But it’s easy enough to look up in the manual.

Ed, I do have the manual, and never had an electrode/ignition problem.

Steve, I have the plastic tool for the Beckett. Is there one for the Carlin?
I will look it up now.

Edit: Carlin 76893 Electrode Setting Gauge

I had a pretty good guess. i was off 1/8" on the height above the nozzle.

Becketts used to be 1/8 gap, 7/16 above and flush to 1/16 ahead for the old AFs, but then they made some changes

Electrode Setting Gauge (RED) for 99FRD,100CRD, 102CRD

They even make one for Riello, not that you really ever need one

I installed the new electrodes. They are not sharpened to a point.
They are actually Westwood brand. They are working great, but I
do have a pair of Beckett electrodes that look to be the same but are sharpened to a point.
Has anyone ever substituted electrodes? Any difference?

The Westwood ones should be fine. That's what most supply houses have. They probably buy Westwood's cheaper and charge us Beckett/carlin prices LOL prices.
