Boiler Conditioner

Hello,
I have an older cast iron boiler that will require draining for maintenance. Is there a product that should be added to the system before refilling the water?

I like Rectorseal 8-way boiler treatment.  You can usually find it or a similar product at your local supply house, or you can order online.

This is a hot water boiler, not steam. Do I leave this product in permanently? or is it a flush

I would run a cleanser first, followed by good water and a conditioner.

These aerosol kits make it easy. Squirt it into a hose connection to the system.
