Air Return in Basement

I have a 1500sq ranch style home with partially finished basement. I was watching a lot of videos and wondered if I should install a air return in the basement near the floor. I only currently have 1 air return on a wall in my hallway. Trying to understand if this would accomplish anything as far as basement comfort and removing humidity.

Adding a return to the room will improve the air circulation yes , I am not fond of a return in the cellar myself . For one reason the materials that I seen stored in them and the second loosing draft for combustible appliances , also in the cellar ....

There was an error rendering this rich post.

Is it a finished basement? will it be ducted from the finished room to the furnace.
If it is not a finished basement, then I would advise against it.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

Partially finished, have is and half isn't.
