Should I ask the contractor to clean my air ducts before installing my new Furnace and Heat Pump?

Unless the system has been run for a considerable time without a filter or something else has seriously contaminated the ductwork, duct cleaning is not needed.

Does the contractor offer duct cleaning?
You would know better than anyone if it needs cleaning. Pop off a grill or check the air filter. Check the blower wheel for build-up. If it's 30 years or older, it couldn't hurt.0 -
Personally,
I don't allow anyone that does "Duct cleaning" on my property.Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.
