The condenser unit has two expansion valves.. one for the evaporator and one at the end of the condenser circuit before it goes into what looks like a receiver but the evaporator and condenser circuits both go into this receiver."
What is Mitsubishi doing, especially with the "receiver?"

It's a heat pump. In heat mode the condenser is the evaporator and needs the EEV.0

I should have mentioned it's a PUY series (cool only). Just double checked the nameplate.
I guess it's for condenser head control? Also why to all the line set circuits pass through the "receiver?"0
