replacing my 30yo Burnham oil boiler forced hot water
2 options given by dealers were Energy Kinetics 2000Frontier v Viessman VRI62
price were similar

I vote for the Energy Kinetics boiler as well. Does your current boiler have a tankless coil or indirect tank for hot water? You will see significant savings in fuel oil usage with the Energy Kinetics boiler and hot water storage tank.
Viessman makes a fine boiler too but it will also come with a Riello oil burner most likely. Many techs find the Carlin and Beckett burners more service friendly.2 -
