taco switching relay

need help with wiring a taco 504 switching relay to a burnham series 2 (model b) gas fired hydronic boiler it has r8285d controller. I'm fine with the 4 circulator wiring and the thermostat wiring. Not sure about connecting taco to the r8285d control on boiler Thanks for your feedback

X X Isolated end switch on sr504 to R and G on R8285D (where the thermostat wiring would normally go).

Make sure the safeties are wired correctly :)

do you know if the white and yellow coming off the r8285d are line voltage L1-L2. Also can i take that power from L1/L2 on the taco switching relay

    Hello @DaveM,
More than one Yellow wire so that is kind of vague. Typically the exposed screw terminals are low Voltage and the Line Voltage is inside the Junction Box.

thanks again, they pig tailed a white and yellow wire off the white and black in junction box for line voltage . Do you think its ok to jump off the 120v input on the taco switching relay to feed the boiler control (r8285d)

    Hi
thanks for reaching out. The SR switching relay is a facilitator to allow multiple thermostats wired to TT at top of controller, and circulators to corresponding H & N at bottom of controller. The only interface with boiler are dry contacts CX to TT on boiler. Hopefully, this helps. If you need additional support, contact Taco Tech support at 401-942-8000

Not exactly sure of your intent ? To me you are asking if you are supplying power to the SR-504 can you run the rest of the boiler from the feed that powers the SR-504 ?

OR, If the Yellow is just an extension of a hot all the time black wire, something like this may work, it depends on the fuse (Blue box on drawing) and how many circulators and how much the circulators draw if they are all on at once. It may be better if the SR-504 is on its own circuit.

    Hello @DaveM,
Be mindful where you tap in or extend the wires some are a smaller wire gauge, my diagram edits were for a concept and not actual wiring in some cases.

I want to say thank you to all of you guys the feedback and diagrams were extremally helpful you take the time out of your busy days to help people I did this job for my daughter in her new home I've been a construction plumber in N.Y. for 40 years and although somewhat familiar with this project I could not have done it without your help Thanks again Dave
