Buderus GB142 heat exchangers

As a GB142 owner, I've read they are prone to heat exchanger failures. Are the failures from the inside-out or the outside-in? Every year I clean the white deposits off of the finned tubes using the mixture of mineral oil and water for soaking followed by reassembly, the "chimney sweep" cycle, disassembly, flushing with water, and repeat as needed. Does this cleaning prolong the HX life? And/or are there problems that develop inside the HX that eventually causes a failure?

Hi..How old is this install? You're doing what you're supposed to do. Do you get a lot of buildup in the condensate trap? The ones that I've seen fail wore down from the inside out and then leaked. Any pictures? Mad Dog 🐕0

Hows the water quality inside the boiler?
Follow the manufacturers guideline for fill water, or glycol if that applies
