Airtrol ATF-12 Question

Dan's book "Pumping Away" recommends this product and I am planning on installing on in my 12" steel compression tank.
However I found this YouTube video where the guy pretty much disses the product:
How the airtrol boiler expansion tank fitting works

I don't think this guy knows what he is talking about, although it was cool to see the cross-section.
What do others think about this product and it's effectiveness in the field?

Thanks,
Eric Peterson

    (snip)

Obviously that guy has not read Dan's book.

We use these all the time on plain steel tanks. They work well, and the tanks rarely have to be drained.

It is a valve that only allows flow if there is a little bit of pressure differential so it allows the tank to receive and provide water to accommodate expansion but it prevents gravity circulation in the pipe to the tank so the water in the tank that has absorbed air mostly doesn't migrate in to the system.

I dont have a you tube account otherwise I would explain to the man that the ATF-24 he has there is incomplete and requires the air bleeder and that would correct his spreading miss-information about it.
I would love to hear him explain to me how an open to air saddle mounted expansion tank will never work to remove air bubbles using an ATF 12 or ATF-24.
