Odd red light-no code problem Fujitsu Halcyon ductless

New to forum. I have an odd issue that I can find no discussion of, anywhere. One of my Fujitsu mini-splits will sometimes show a *solid* red light, no code, when I change a setting— for either the temp or fan, in either up or down. (Of course the problem is sporadic, just to torture us). Sometimes the ac shuts off, but can be immediately turned back on. Yesterday it did not shut off; green light remained along with red light. My AC guy keeps insisting this is about the coil developing ice but it happened in 85+ temp with low humidity. It can happen several times in an hour or not at all. And my other unit does not do this, ever, under the same weather conditions. Any ideas? TIA.

Have you looked through the manual? I admittedly do not deal much with Fujitsu brand, but according to their manual the red indicator light is normal under many different conditions, including when you change settings...

Model number of indoor unit?
There was an error rendering this rich post.

Thanks for the feedback about the red light, but my units are not supposed to show a red light under these or any function changes…(air cleaning mode?? Wish I had that!)
——the red light comes on when I change fan speed or temp. In neither case is it supposed to, and it only does this on the smaller of my two units.
Steve, indoor model # is ASU12RL2.0 -
Oh, and don't forget that usually the unit stops working when the red light comes on.0

You have three leds from left to right:
Operation / Timer / Economy.
Which led is the red?0 -
I can't believe I never thought to look that up. It's the timer light! Which glows solid orange (not red) and shuts off the machine when functions not timer related are selected! Huh. That's a service call, yes?0

Hey, experts, thank you for your help. One last question: could the problem stem from a glitch in the remote control?0
