I have a question, how do i know if a Boiler need or not a the fire liner
I have a Cast Iron Boiler Enerjet corporation Model OA-105 but not sure if it need the liner
Is Cast Iron and the fire Chamber is surrounded by water

I notice a New Yorker steel Boiler with fire Chamber surrounded by water does not have  liner in the chamber just in the chamber floor and in the cap that holds the burner

So I am thinking if is surrounded by water doesn't need it

We had a pump's valve get sloppy which caused a few firebox fires, oil sitting in the box etc.
The was just a simple 'tub' that came as one piece. The price was affordable enough, and not an overly difficult task. Peace of mind followed.

I figured if the manuf puts em in there, surely there's a need for it (for that model anyhow).

@Alcugo , your Enerjet is oil-fired, right? The liner not only keeps the flame from contacting the cast-iron, it also reflects some heat back into the flame. This helps keep the flame temperature high enough that it will not (if properly adjusted otherwise) create smoke or soot.
