ARC Rococo Collection

Assisting client with the sale of a remarkable collection of American Radiator Co. Rococo ornate radiators. Many of these units exhibit the original 1890s "bronzing" finish. Despite a few wall paint miscues (easily remedied) over the last 100+ years, none require blasting. No.

8 has a thin coat of very old silver paint that is flaking off, to reveal original finish. Except for No. 6, all units are 3-column and all have been pressure tested. Currently stored in an easy access garage in Farmington, MO, zip code 63640. Accepting offers for the bundle.

Gorgeous....the $64,000 dollar question is...What shipping will cost.  I hope someone takes them and uses them.  Good luck. Mad Dog 🐕

An abomination apparently. Probably switching to hydro coils.

To all the pros on here:
The home is in Farmington, MO. 75 miles SW of St. Louis. Average high temperature in January is 43 F.
If any pros think a Heat Pump would not adequately heat and cool this home year round, then they really need to learn more about heat pumps.
I'm all for keeping older cars, homes, antiques, etc as original as possible. But that's me. Others, especially younger people who are now your customers and the one's spending money have a different viewpoint. Many younger people care deeply about the environment and want to be green (whatever that means). Also, many new home buyers want to remake the home into "THEIR" home.
If you are a Pro, and you like to earn money, remember, THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT, even when they are wrong.
I think it was nice the OP posted these here, maybe someone can use them.

That's why they make air-to-water heat pumps that can interface with radiators.

A house that old will never be comfortable with forced-air.

BTW, what's the average overnight low temperature there?

Sorry but the customer >>>Young or old ....Money on not<<< is not always right and sometimes they may have to be EDUCATED on the best "Green" solutions..... Heatpumps are not always the best solution depending on the heat surfaces/ heatloss and eviromental conditions.
The Pro comment in conjunction with earning money is very unprofessional , :'(

@Derheatmeister, I apologize if you or any other pros here took my comment on earning money as a suggestion you guys should sell whatever the customer wants, regardless of the space conditioning system's appropriateness for the home and location or not. That wasn't my intent, but re-reading my post, I can see how it could be taken that way.
As you know, in Colorado, there are many younger environmentally conscious home buyers. I really do believe this is a coming trend where some homeowners will want to get rid of the monthly gas connection charge, oil tank, or propane tank, even if that means losing radiant heat.
I spent my entire career in business and firmly believe the customer is always right, even when they are wrong. Listen to your customer. They may say they want a drill, but they mean they want a hole. Figure out what they really want, then propose a solution that makes them happy, and you can support. The contractor should also be honest with themselves about their expertise. If the contractor doesn't know how to install a steam boiler (many pics of that here) or heat pump, don't wing it. Refer them to someone who can.
Record high in Farmington, MO is 114 F, average low in January is 23 F. That home needs central AC. The pictured window shaker is ugly. Hopefully the Contractor is installing a ducted system.
This thread was posted by the OP in the Buy, Sell, Barter section. He didn't ask for feedback on radiant vs forced air. If we continue to give people crap whenever they sell radiators, less radiators for sale will be posted on this site. I don't want to see that happen because I like to ogle old radiators.

I respectfully turn that phrase around,, and will give you what The Great Frank Blau (I believe) once said:
"The customer is NOT always right!...but they are still The Customer."  I.e., You put forth your best advice, if they want to go in another direction and you can do it for them safely....Do it.  I'm 55, but I'm a lifelong outdoorsman and Environmentalist and want cleaner air and water just as much..as Greenpeace and The Sierra Club   Its not just the younger generation that cares.  That being said, changes of fuel & equipment need to be introduced gradually and intelligently...No rush...Mad Dog 🐕
