Anyone come up with a simple solution to this for 2 million btu low pressure boiler for 50unit bldg. They are starting to bring this up on some jobs. Rather than a pretty expensive add on pre made cooler. Just searching for ideas. The inspector accepts alternate means or methods.
Thanks in advance

Any type of tank the blowdown water can sit in and seperate from the flash steam. Has to have a good vent to get rid of the steam. And a water regulating valve to put city water in to cool the condensate.
But this makes it an ASME issue at least on high pressure boilers. Low pressure I guess you may be able to get by with what the inspector accepts. But whoever insures the building may have an issue with it.0 -
thanks for input Ed.
