Amana furnace problem with lighting

I have an Amana Hvac furnace, the heat has stopped and no flame is the problem. I had it serviced but it turned out the service man left and never returned, so I have replaced the igniter and I have another gas valve but the system lights with a lighter, just not an igniter? My question is if it lights with a flame from a lighter and not with an igniter could it still be the gas valve or is it another problem?
