Boiler Vent and Air Intake Weil-Mclain eco® tec 110-h series 2

In boiler installation manual (Page 28) maximum separation between vent and intake air is shown as 15 inches. Why is there a maximum separation? For this install, there would be benefit to running the boiler intake air to opposite site of the structure due to presence of a dryer exhaust vent within 2 feet of only outside termination point. Any thoughts on air termination and vent termination being on opposite sides of a structure?

They dont want a pressure differential too great between the 2. They should/ must be on the same wall. if you imagine the wind blowing on one side causing it to be very difficult for the boiler to properly vent or the other case creating a suction that could extinguish the flame in the boiler...
Same side creates balance...
