just installed new viesmann vitodens 100w condensing boiler with indirect viesmann 42 gal storage tank. outside reset sensor is wired and weather compensation and burner modulation seem to be working perfectly. however when i call up the outside temp screen i get not a temp reading but a temp missing sign. shouldn't the outside reset sensor give me the outside temp reading or am i supposed to have another optional sensor for that.

    Make sure the sensor is wired in correctly. Are the wires "landed" on the right location? Also UNwire the outdoor sensor and then test the two leads with a multimeter set on "ohms" and have a chart available to see if the values on the multimeter match the prevailing outdoor temp. If so...the sensor is good.
    If you can't solve, you should text Viessmann tech support. They will then contact you. Or have a service person contact tech support.
