I think, I hope I solved my Burnham boiler short cycling problem

My boiler was short cycling. starts, would reach the 180 deg F limit, shut off, drop to 160 ish, restart. Some heat but not enough.

I just replaced the circulator pump. I suspect the pump was bad or the check valve was bad. There was no pumped flow. I had a gravity system. But a bad check valve would have blocked that, correct?

I wonder why the local HVAC people did not suspect a bad pump?

    Also, the TT VAC issue was because when the wood stove satisfied the thermostat, there was no call for heat. When I raised the set point, then the system called for heat forever which it could not meet.
