Smith GV100W boiler shrill noise

Smith GV100W cast iron boiler from 1996 making annoying noise during every heat cycle. Noise is super annoying 1750Hz tone (about 75dB) and 2625Hz "partial" inharmonic overtone. It's associated with the inducer -- not at cold startup, but only as the gas comes on, and then it fades away as the boiler heats up. Original induced blower assembly was replaced 2.5 years ago (55529 that I'd purchased, installed by an HVAC tech) and has been lubricated to spec with Anderol 465. Using a dental mirror I also tried guiding a few drops of oil to the hidden far end of the motor where the shaft enters the vent chamber; no improvement.
Yes the boiler is >25 years old but works great otherwise and I was hoping for a few more years.
What causes the noise? Is it solvable?
Thanks! -Kevin
