Taco 0013 replacement cartridge

I have the Taco 0013-MSSF1-IFC (picture attached)  I like having replacement cartridges for all my pumps   In fact I have one Motorized ball valve as a backup etc   Apparently this pump has been disconnected   Can anyone give me an idea of where I can grab a replacement cartridge   Also what would the equivalent pump for Grundfos or B&G be?  I am using this for domestic hot water

The replacement cartridge part number is 0013-033RP and can purchase at your local wholesaler or supplyhouse.com You can use the link to enter your zip code to find your local Taco Rep https://www.tacocomfort.com/rep-locator/. Our SS 0034e replaces your 0013 3-speed pump. If you have any questions, please give Taco Technical Services a call during normal business hours Mon-Fri 8am-5pm EST 401-942-8000

What I have is IBC combi boiler that wasn’t producing enough to satisfy DHW needs.  So I added a storage tank and the pump basically turns on when the aqua stat drops below a temperature in storage tank and then pushes water into boiler which then fills storage tank

Seems like a small DHW recirc pump is all you need? It circulates through the tank and heat exchanger in the boiler?

I had the Grundfos 15-35 3 speed before but pushing into the IBC boiler it wasn’t strong enough.  So I want to stay at least to the taco 0013 or I can go with a singular speed that will match the specs of the Taco 0013

I have found that often times it is only slightly more expensive to buy a new pump than just the cartridge, but that is assuming you are buying a pump the same shape that is a drop-in replacement.

Seems odd you need that much pump, the pump inside the boiler that flows the other side of the HX would be a guide to how much flow you need. Not much pressure drop in those plate heat exchanger. I would think that 15-58 on speed 3 would be plenty?

Those plate hxers do scale up on the domestic side if you have hard water, that would cause the flow resistance to go up. Have you ever descaled it?

In some installations every year or two you need to flush them with an acid descaler

A tankless water heater descale kit make it an easy task. A plastic bucket contains the acid, and a small pump to circulate it through

Rectorseal is one of several brands.

I think Hot Rod is spot on, if you’re using the pump the heat an indirect, check the MFG published pressure drop through the coil, amount of piping outside of indirect and size the pump for the duty. 0013 is a big **** pump, a beast! Be careful of erosion corrosion.
