My first condensing boiler sale did not go as well as I imagined. I learned some valuable lessons on that project. Hope my lesson helps you

no kidding. the amount of perfectly good cast iron lost to this fidgety technology is a tragedy. tell this to the folks who vented these condensing boilers with PVC based on condensing exhaust temperatures.

The boiler manufacturer should have know it was not going to condense in that application?
Are they modulating also, that alone can sometimes save a few % by allowing them to ramp up and down to the load

I suspect you got rid of a lot of combustion air into the room with the condensers?

Lesson learned, at least you had an understanding customer🤓

Hybrid boilers is another option for multi boiler installation, if you can modulate temperature down in low load conditions, days when you don’t need 180 to meet the heating load.

This job had a mix of both condensing and non condensing

@archibald tuttle Change is the only constant I guess
@hot_rod I have learned much since then I never wanted to be caught like that again. I love the idea of a hybrid system It seems like a perfect solution. I have sold two and they work great
    Thanks

no problem with change, but a lot of problem with change for change's sake
