2 Stage heat and 1 cool

Having a problem with 2 stage heat and 1 cool on nest / ecobee thermostats. I have one zone of radiant wired to a Taco relay. One zone of hydro air and cooling from a First co. Air handler. Question is neither thermostat will engage the hydro when called. Any one else have any experience with this? Thanks for any useful feedback

This all depends on what the thermostat is connected to. Where does the thermostat wire go to.. I might expect an air handler. I had a similar situation in my last home. The radiant was on the first stage and the Gas furnace was on the second stage.
I like Control wiring and tried several different designs. I finally ended up with a second Nest thermostat to control only the floor heat. If it got too cold outside that the floor heat was running all the time, and the indoor temperature dropped to 66° the gas furnace would kick in to take up the slack... I might on occasion increase the floor heat thermostat to 70 and the gas furnace to 68.
The furnace seldom turned on with that setup. Just seems that the Nest was just too temperamental to get it to do the 2 heat 1 cool from different heat sources. Boiler # 1 stage and furnace #2 stage.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?
