Boiler piping question

Cleaning up installed boiler, working for a long time but has some ghost flow issues that I will add some spring checks to cure. The expansion tank is upside down was going to remedy that and while I was at it should bring the water feed to the expansion tank or move tank over to where the water feed comes in ? Dont want to reinvent the wheel here with complete repipe.

Don't understand your diagram. But the expansion tank and water make up should be in the same location. Most put the MU water into a tee. with expansion tank, boiler connection and make up water all tied together.

as long as the MU water and expansion tank are on the same side of the circulators and not separated by zone valves, flow checks etc and are "seeing" the same pressure you are usually ok. Pumping away from the expansion tank is best
