Hoping to get some clarification in the basics of steam.
Here is the situation:
Commercial building has two steam boilers. Boiler-1 is in operation and Boiler-2 has been down for a while.
Steam has been condensing on Blr-2. Tried blowing down the LWCO on Blr-2 and the pipes banged like thunderstorm.
What is going on here?

Boiler #2 is down ? Is #2 isolated from the system ?
Steam would implode on contact with tempered water ...There was an error rendering this rich post.

Not isolated. Gauge reading same PSI as Boiler-10
