Baseboard heat is making a racket - no bleed valves anywhere to be found. Anyway to bleed near the boiler? Above the green Vent-rite expansion tank is very corroded. This our issue? Or do we need to get bleeder valves installed…or drain/refill entire system? Winter in Massachusetts - don’t want to risk system failure.

Buy Mom some professional service and maintenance for a Christmas Gift. As Mr. T says, "Treat Your Mother Right".

I would replace the air vent and check the air pressure in the E-Tank and take a gander at the tridicator. Noise in the baseboards? A "racket" is a subjective cognitive assessment. I don't know what that means. But, flashing in the boiler? Flow issues? Expansion issues?

Seriously, I don't like the looks of the flue. I think Mom's heating system deserves a look-over from a new contractor. Not the same guy who has been in there before. Not really a good way to bleed from the boiler without adding a micro bubble bleeder which can be done when the tank is replaced.
Other's here will have further advice.

That flue pipe isn't the plastic pipe that was recalled is it. Was that Hart & Cooley???
