Apollo valves are good and most ball valves (except the cheapest) are at least rated for low pressure steam.

I used to buy Apollo "carbon steel" ball valves that were rated for 200 or 250 lb steam.

With all the import junk on the market today at 1/6th the price of a US-made Apollo, that valve is a sign of quality work.

I looked up the Apollo ball valve and it doesn't carry a formal rating for steam but given 600psi cold water rating and 400F temperature rating and all brass construction except for PTFE O ring, it does look like it can handle low pressure steam. I wish a more formally rated valve were installed but given the experience this HVAC plumbers' company appeared to have in our area which is still steam heavy, think I should be ok. Will update thread if warranted. Right now I am trying to dry out the plaster wall in the room below the radiator area. I see scraping, spackling and painting in the near future  :(
