    Hi, That looks like a cottage heater, or something that should provide about three gallons per minute of hot water. The General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen in New York now has in its files information on Hoffman Heaters, which will probably help you. I can say that it has a water motor, so the unit fires up when water is drawn. As long as it has all of its parts, it likely can still work 😉

    it cost $90 in 1925.. @Larry Weingarten is the person that would be best to tag for information if it's available
