At at a job today to replace 14 radiator valves and capsules was sent Tunstall tfhf-1409 capsules which would not fit in the Hoffman 17c traps. According to Tunstall’s web site the correct cross referenced capsule is a tchf-1409. I tried calling and messaging Tunstall to double check but got no answer. Can anyone verify the correct replacement? Thanks!

I would call Tunstall back and get someone on the phone.0

There are "old style" and "new style" Hoffman 17C traps. I have used Barnes & Jones 3500 cage units in old style Hoffman 17C traps and they fit fine. There is a good video on YouTube by Gordon Schweizer (All Steamed Up)0

The B&J 3500's worked for me on the older tall 17C's.
However on the newer shorter 17C's a new extension cap was needed.
Might need new caps on the Tunstall, depending upon the height of the 17c's.0
