My boiler shuts off on windy or very cold days

Hello I have a Laars natural gs 105k boiler that shuts off on very cold or windy days. I’m in Colorado (high elevation). Is this an issue with the vent damper? 2007 Mini Therm 105k

The warmer it is inside and colder it is outside. ( the greater the temperature difference) the more draft a normal vent pipe can create. This higher draft can cause a gas pilot to blow out, or an electronic ignition to fail on start up. High wind can also cause changes in natural draft thru a venting system. What is the type of failure? standing pilot goes out? Electronic ignition failure?

Is your Larrs MiniTherm JX model? https://www.supplyhouse.com/Laars-JX125NLIU1-JX-125-105000-BTU-Output-Mini-Therm-Gas-Fired-Hydronic-Boiler-w-Low-Loss-Header-Pump-Assembly-5001-8000-FT here is the installation manual https://s3.amazonaws.com/s3.supplyhouse.com/product_files/Laars-JX125NLIU1-Install.pdf. read page 11 thru 16 to understand how the venting and combustion air play a roll in proper operation of your equipment.

Disclaimer: The price of the boiler from supplyhouse.com does not include all the accessories needed to install the boiler, Those accessories, pipes and fitting costs can be as high as or greater than the price of the boiler alone. Accounting for the normal markup of the boiler and accessories and the labor to install those parts, and offer a warranty on the material and workmanship are also not included in the price listed for the boiler only
. So, NO... you did not get ripped off in 2007.
