Can a taco zvc405 be used to control automag zone valves that only open when no power is supplied?
I think i need to get VDC to the zone valves, but do not know if this is possible using the taco ZVC405

Those auto mags are a dc zone valves powered closed ,I’m not sure there even made any more and it’s been so long since I even seen one and the controller for it if shot might be a hard to find item I don’t even think there manufactured any more . If memory serves they where out of elm wood park nj I remember picking up a controller icons ago . . Personally I would suggest to update them and replace w taco sentry valve much better choice and would be easily wired into a taco controller if so get a expandable model has some basic add on like valve and pump exercising . This way in the event of any issue you won’t be looking to replace something that 40 years old . I might guess this is on a hydrothermal boiler they can as a package they even can w a crappy manifold that attached right to the return if I remember and many where installed for a time span until there where issue and where replaced but I will say when set up w power pile they where able to give you some gravity heat durning power outages . As for using a taco zone controller unfortunately that’s a no gonna work ,I would say bit the bullet and replace them and if on the original boiler then it may be a better and easier deal to update your equipment and possibly cheaper in the long run being they most likely have seen better days and replacement parts will be one of the two hard to locate and not cheap being they know that most are not using them on new install so they know they got you between a rock and a empty wallet . I think Sid Harvey may still carry them .
    Peace and good luck clammy

The Taco control won't work with your Automag zone valves. Either bite the bullet and replace the zone valves, or get the right control from Automag.
