Long time not posting,
Hello all.
Been a Oil Tech over 45 years and retired 5+ years. SO things change in 5 years lol
I live in Maine my son is in Ct. call with a issue
Aprilaire Duct dampers I think Mod 6302 /6303
the belts are good !
Powered closed
Spring open
Dampers power closed but do not open when zone satisfied
2nd flr works sometimes
1st floor works by manual
Just told him to shoot a little WD 40 on the hinges and did have him clean the dampers
The damper Mtrs. look like Honeywell Zone Vale Motors
So a simple system but never worked on the brand, Last dampers I worked on were Trol A Temp
And I do have the manual on line
Fun trying to do a call over the phone lol
I assume if the spring is good it should stay open if the motor is out ?
The spring does have tension but I know springs can stretch and loose tension !!

Thanks for any help

In my experience Aprilaire dampers are problematic. I would change them both to Honeywell or EWC. When ordering, the motor side is on the second measurement.
