I know line sizing is not the proper sizing when we size steam traps. Any suggestions and sizing material you can share with me will be appreciated.

Depends on what the trap is used for,
For a trap dripping a steam main you take the Weight of the pipe and fittings find the specific heat of steel and figure how much steam it takes /hour to heat that amount of pipe and fittings. Size the trap at a 2-1 safety factor. You also need to know the pressure differential across the trap.
For radiation and air handlers you find out from the mfg. how much condensate it will condense in an hour again use a minimum 2-1 safety factor and you need the pressure diff across the trap.0
