    as a kid, I shined up many coins with that stuff. I had a U-tube manometer for checking pressures in the hvac days. ran the mercury through cheese cloth to keep it clean. It was recommended in the instructions!

    I ran into a Honeywell heat generator while looking at a job in New Rochelle. I am glad that you answered my question of what it was. I did not had to handle it like you and Dave.

    I wonder if those old mercury devices could leak mercury vapor through the steam system and air vents.
