Viessmann oil-fired boiler conversion

Hi all, I would love some help with converting from oil to gas. UGI recently installed a gas line on my street and the closest certified Viessmann mechanic is in NJ...I live in Easton, PA. I was told that all I need to do is buy a new gas burner, but I'm not so sure. My searches indicate that I would need to buy a new boiler. Is this so? Thanks in advance and shout out to Dan and his fam!

In most cases if it's oil fired you can convert it to gas but yes which boiler is it?

Look up on the Carlin EZ gas burner web site they may list the boilers they can fire with their gas burner, Then you need someone who knows how to set it up with a combustion test. Not the average plumber who just wants to run the pipe

I have had success with Wayne gas burners on older boilers. The Viessmann boilers are a little tighter that most of the older boilers I have converted. What model boiler? You may want something with a higher static pressure like the Riello gas burners. I usually include a thorough brush and vacuum cleaning, new combustion chamber, and vent connector with a barometric designed for gas power burner operation. Depending on the system's age, perhaps new controls are in order.

You can go cheep with just a burner and hope for the best, or you can really do it up right and make the system as good as new... or even better than new!

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

Thanks all for your input...it's a Viessmann Bitola 7303024 installed by "heatboy" around 2002? It was an older model he got at a discount. It's served me well with very little upkeep :) I just wish there was someone closer by to do the job right.

@heatboy still shows as a member of this board- maybe he will chime in. From what I can tell, the Bitola was probably an earlier version of the current Vitola series.

I like the Carlin EZ-Gas Pro, and the Carlin OEM Spec Guide does include some Viessmann applications, but doesn't go back that far.

Heatboy is my ex and it's doubtful he will respond! ;) I will check with Riello and other suggested burner manufacturers. If anyone on this forum is in my area with Viessmann knowledge, please let me know. Thanks again!
