HB Smith boiler LP conversion

I recently bought a new in the crate 1985 HB smith natural gas hot water boiler. I also bought the LP conversion kit designed for it that consisted of new burner orifices, a new pilot burner orifice and insert and a new spring for the gas control valve. I replaced the burner orifices no problem. However the pilot orifice has a smaller opening than the diameter of the pilot tube. No mention of this in the kit instructions. The online supplier I bought the kit from was no help. I’m lost.

The orifice should be smaller than the pilot tub. I am assuming your referring to the pilot orifice, What model boiler. Maybe they gave you the wrong conversion kit0
