My Gas fired Crown Bimini BWC225.
It's only 12 years old and now reads error code E03
I replaced the ignition electrode & cable.
Also cleaned the heat exchanger which was very clogged.
Still has error code E03. Any ideas?

    @ChucksOldBoiler ,

    I'm wondering why you "I replaced the ignition electrode & cable." ? Cleaning the Heat Exchanger probably would not have hurt, but may not have gotten you any closer to the E03 situations remedy.

    Using the manual found here;
    https://www.velocityboilerworks.com/documents/bimini_150_225_installation_manual.pdf

    Table 13.4: Hard Lockout Codes Displayed (Manual page 53, PDF page 55)

    E 03 - Gas valve error
    • Loose or defective gas valve harness. Check electrical connections.
    • Defective gas valve (check for 24 VDC at harness during trial for ignition before replacing valve)

    Once the condition that caused the lockout is corrected, the boiler will need to be manually reset using the RESET button on the display.

    I assume you tried the reset.

    " The BWC boiler uses a microprocessor based control, known as a “MCBA ”

    Apparently the MCBA has a Supervisory or Monitoring capability so it thinks there is a problem with the Gas Valve or the Gas Valve's circuit or wiring harness. I would pursue that direction.

    You can try removing the wire connector from the gas valve and replacing it. This small procedure can "clean" the contact between the plug and the pins to improve the electrical connection.

    After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?
