Old 1920's PreHeater needs identified

This unit was originally a Coal fired Preheater for a much larger boiler.
I don't know if it's a Pierce Giant or a Fierce Giant brand.
For the sake of history, Please, anyone with knowledge, feel free to share it here.

This is a pic of the Main Boiler that has been removed after 75 years of service!!!

Pierce. As in the Pierce, Butler & Pierce Co. of Syracuse, NY.

That looks like a coal-fired stove that heated a hot-water storage tank in the summer, when the main boiler was not in use, hence the name "Tank Heater".

What boiler are you putting in to replace the Royal?

I relocated the 6" supply & return lines into the main house & replaced it with a Gas fired Crown Bimini BWC225.
Got 12 years out of it and now reads error code E03 I replaced the ignition electrode & cable then cleaned the heat exchanger. Still has error ode E03. Any ideas?

If I am looking at the correct manual that error code does not give much info, it just says "Burner responding to call for heat" I believe you will need to follow the sequence of operation and determine what exactly is causing the lockout. If you have different info on that error code share it
