I work 11:00 to 6:00. No traffic, no lines at the supply house. And I never go to the city anymore or even cross the river. There's enough work locally.

Extreme leap between a megacity and an island, and I would never live in either.
We're rural, 30 mins outside of a small city of 100k. Contractors usually upcharge something for going into the rural (a 30 min drive, as opposed to a 20 min drive across town). I pay it without gripe, but I smile on the inside wondering how they would think of a few-hour drive across a megacity.

The "smart" people think that if we all would just live in megacities, things would be great.
Contractors could just load all their gear up onto public transit, no ?
30+ yrs in telecom outside plant.
    Currently in building maintenance.

I sit in that Boston traffic almost every day. But let me tell you it is a 1000% improvement from what it was before the big dig. I worked exactly were that pic is taken as a kid back in the 80's. just to the right is a shopping plaza that use to be a distribution hub for good old sears and roebuck lol
