If the solenoid fails, do I have to replace the oil pump?

I am considering a Suntec A2VA-3006B oil pump that appears to have an integral solenoid: https://www.supplyhouse.com/Suntec-A2VA-3006B-Single-Stage-Oil-Pump-3450-RPM
If the solenoid should fail (not the coil), can it be easily replaced, or are you forced to buy a whole new oil pump?
I suppose the same goes for the Beckett Clean-Cut pump?

Yes . you need a new pump ... I don't know of any tests to check the valve. , a ohm test is used to check the coil and a voltage meter to see if it gets power ..

You can add a solenoid valve to a standard fuel unit- this gets around having to replace a fuel unit/valve assembly. We like this one:

Thanks. Then I will get a pump WITHOUT a built-in solenoid valve and continue to use the add-on F84 kit.0

Or I can use this: https://www.pumpproducts.com/suntec-r642nl-model-r-non-delay-solenoid-valve-with-3753895-cordset-115-vac-fuel-pump-mount.html
Suntec R642NL Solenoid Valve
This shut-off valve can be installed on any Suntec model series A and B pumps rated up to 300 psi. The model R valve is added into the circuit with simple tools and without additional tubing. The coaxial bolt assembles the valve directly to the pump outlet.
The oil suppliers are now, or will be blending their fuel oil. But this valve's description says This product is not compatible with fuel blends containing more than 5% biodiesel.
I plan to purchase a pump with the B20 compatible rating.0 -
I guess I can't use the R642NL solenoid valve. I was planning to connect it to the delay cordset and I found this:
R642N
This Valve Can Be Installed On Any Suntec A Or B Series Pump Rated Up To 300 PSI.
Except For Delay Models Which Are Rated To 150 PSI
For Use With # 2 Or Lighter Fuel Oil At A Maximum Fluid Temperature Of 75°F (24°C).
This Product Is Not Compatible With Fuel Blends Containing More Than 5% Biodiesel.

They used to make delay solenoid valve in the old days that mounted external to the pump in the nozzle line they were pretty reliable.
Don't even know if they still make them.0 -
Yes Ed, I have it already installed. It's the F84 kit that Steamhead recommended.0

I have narrowed it down to 3 oil pumps: (in order of my preference)
- A2VA-7116B https://www.supplyhouse.com/Suntec-A2VA-7116B-Single-Stage-Bio-Fuel-Oil-Pump-3450-RPM
- A2VA-3106B https://www.supplyhouse.com/Suntec-A2VA-3106B-Single-Stage-Oil-Pump-3450-RPM
- A2YA-7916B https://www.supplyhouse.com/Suntec-A2YA-7916B-Single-Stage-Oil-Pump-3450-RPM
- B20 rated - because the oil suppliers are blending the fuel.
- 3450 rpm, RH, RH
- Single line - oil tank in basement and the oil line is in the floor (no lift).
- I plan to set the pressure at about 145 psi with no larger than a .75 gph nozzle.

Just buy the first one. As an FYI, I have about 450 residential customers in my customer base. I haven't replaced a fuel pump in maybe 2 years. It's not a part that fails often, unless you either get a restriction causing a high vacuum that blows the pump seal, or some real crap fuel that kills it.

@MikeAmann
This is what we used for years. They were fine. I see they are now discontinued

@HVACNUT
They did the job. Blast tube and nozzle assembly stayed a lot cleaner with clean shut down and delayed start. They gave you a little more than 2-3 seconds especially when cold if you got the coil hot from short cycling the burner not so much. I think they had a thermistor, or something built into the coil to give you the delay.
They used to say that a regular pump set at 100psi the internal pressure regulator would open on start up and close on shutdown at around 80psi. The delayed oil valve was enough to give you 100psi on start up and shut down
