Neat Old Thermostats

Bought this off ebay recently. Says UNITED, manufactured in Boston. I would not be surprised if it still worked, but I mounted it in my LR as a conversation piece. Has a few paint spatters on it which gives it character. The one I really wanted was similar but had a clock on the top. It was incredible, but sold for $102.50. I guess someone else who was not as good-looking had more money than I...

If you get the model number you can look up the patent and see when it was made, if it doesn't say it somewhere inside.
Easy to check to see if it works, and you can probably calibrate it.

There was an error rendering this rich post.

This t-stat has 2 wires, but I have no interest in using it, nor researching how old it is. I just fell in love with it when I saw it. I am looking forward to garage sales this year. I am going to be looking for stuff like this. Who knows, maybe I will find one with the clock. Going to be looking for main vents that might be new still in the box too, now that I have learned what these things are, and how much they cost. I love to wheel and deal!
