Fuel Tank Leak

Is it normal practice for the fire dept. to hammer a 1/2'' wooden plug into the bottom of a 12ga 275 fuel tank?
If the leak was that bad the tank would have been empty by the time they got there.
Think it is time for some maga-patch donations and how to use them.

Normal? Who knows. That's probably their procedure to immediately stop/slow an oil leak until an oil company gets there to pump it out or an environmental company gets there to clean it up.
You'd think the fire marshall would have some input on the situation, but they may make it worse. There was an error rendering this rich post.
