Are there pellet boilers available that would work with a 1 pipe steam system? I've only seen ones that work with hot water.

Sort of: you could buy an oil or power gas steam boiler without the burner then install one of these: http://www.pelletstovefires.com/pellet-burners.html
Where I used to live in VT those Pellergy units were all the rage, but I don't know if anyone ever put one on a steamer. (I did see one in a greenhouse though, which was pretty cool - er - hot).1 -
Edit to add: Pellergy used to make this type of burner, but I don't see that on their web site anymore. https://pellergy.com/wood-pellet-boiler-conversion/0

Hurst makes one. Might be too big. Same with Burnham.

Austria seems to be the world leader in pellet burners, but not a lot of steam in Europe.
I see ISH is promoting the renewable energy hall for 2023, got a press release on that today. A push on wood and pellet burners in an updated hall.
Maybe they are starting to worry about losing the Russian sources for oil?Bob "hot rod" Rohr
