are vertical spirovents directional?

Does anyone know if the vertical spirovents are directional in flow? I am looking at the combination air seperator/dirt seperator and it shows an arrow pointing where the water would flow

    Vertical, point up with direction of flow. Considering they should be installed where water is the hottest, coming out the top of the boiler going up.
